L’entretien des sentiers de randonnée consistent essentiellement à maintenir les chemins en état: Débroussaillage, taille, bûcheronnage petits aménagements, renforcement du balisage, pose ou remplacement de la signalétique. Outre l’intérêt évident de montrer les splendides panoramas du Pays Basque, cette action a aussi pour but de canaliser les personnes qui vont les pratiquer et ainsi éviter autant que possible que ces dernières ne s’éparpillent sur les massifs et piétinent les tourbières par exemple ou ne soient une gêne pour la faune ou la flore tout simplement.
